Erik Per Sullivan’s childhood before Malcolm In The Middle:
Erik Per Sullivan grew up as an only child with his parents in Milford, Massachusetts. His mother is from Sweden, Sullivan himself speaks a little Swedish. At the age of seven, he learned piano and saxophone.
The child star also holds the first level black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Erik Per Sullivan then pursued acting and a baby-faced Erik got some small roles in Armageddon and The Works of God and the Devil.
His career began in 1999 in the movie The Cider House Rules in the role of the orphan boy Fuzzy Stone. In 2001 he played the character Joe Dirt as a child in the movie of the same name. Another of his roles includes the main character, a boy, in the horror film Goosebumps. In 2002, he played the only boy in the film Unfaithful.

Sullivan rose to fame as Malcolm’s younger brother Dewey on the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle which hit our screens in the early 2000s.
He is still known for playing the youngest brother of the dysfunctional Wilkerson family alongside older brothers Francis (played by Christopher Kennedy Masterson), Reece (Justin Berfield) and Malcolm (played by Frankie Muniz).
He became the second youngest child actor in season four when the TV show’s parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) had a fifth son named Jamie.

Erik will most likely remain best known for his Malcolm in the Middle character. The hit comedy ran for seven seasons, ending in 2006 when Erik was just 14 years old.

In 2003, he lent his voice to the movie Finding Nemo, for the character of Sheldon, the seahorse. In 2004, he played the character of Spike in the comedy Christmas with the Kranks.
In 2005, together with Jane Kaczmarek, he co-wrote the children’s book called Together, which shows the importance of livestock in the world, and which was inspired by the mission of the charity Heifer International.

When co-star Frankie shared photos from a reunion in 2012, Erik was absent, with Justin holding up a photo of their missing brother’s photo on the screen.
However, Frankie has already hinted that he would like the series to be restarted, as he tweeted all the way back in 2019, stating: “All these stupid TV show reboots but we still have no idea what Malcolm is up to.
